Toggl Track

+ board tool

Task Board

Task Board

All-in-one

!

The Problem

Toggl Track is a polished time tracker. But here's what it doesn't do:

  • No kanban boards - you need Trello, Asana, or something else
  • Toggl Plan is a separate product and subscription
  • Timer entries are disconnected from tasks
  • Two tools means double the overhead

Toggl Track + Board Tool (10 users)

£70-140/month

The Solution

Your board is your timesheet. Every timer is linked to a task:

  • Drag-and-drop kanban boards
  • One-click timer on any task card
  • Automatic context - every entry tied to a task
  • One tool. One price. No switching.

Task Board (10 users)

£120/month

Your Board Is Your Timesheet

In Toggl, you type a description when you start a timer. In Task Board, you start a timer on a specific task that's sitting on a specific board. The context is built in, not typed in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about switching from Toggl to Task Board

Is Toggl's time tracking more detailed than Task Board's?

Toggl Track has deeper time tracking features: billable rates, time estimates, time audits, idle detection, calendar views, and 100+ integrations. If time tracking is your primary need and task management is secondary, Toggl is the specialist. Task Board's time tracking covers what most small teams need: start/stop timers, reports by person and project.

What about Toggl Plan?

Toggl Plan is a project management tool with timelines and boards. It's separate from Toggl Track - different app, different subscription, different login. Even with both, your time entries in Toggl Track aren't linked to tasks in Toggl Plan the way they are in Task Board (where the timer lives on the task card itself).

Can Task Board do billable rates?

Task Board tracks hours per task and generates time reports. For billable rate calculations and invoicing, you'd use the time data exported through the API or Zapier connected to your invoicing tool. Toggl has this built in on paid plans.

Does Task Board have mobile apps?

Task Board is web-based and works on mobile browsers. Toggl has dedicated iOS and Android apps with features like GPS tracking and widget timers. If mobile time tracking is critical to your workflow, Toggl has the edge.

Can I migrate from Toggl to Task Board?

Task Board has a REST API. Toggl exports time entries to CSV. You can migrate your projects and create matching boards in Task Board. Historical time data can be imported. Contact support for help with migration.

Which is better for freelancers?

Depends on what you need. If you track time across multiple client projects and send invoices based on billable hours, Toggl's built-in rates and invoicing features are useful. If you want a visual board for each client with time tracking built in and want to give clients free guest access to see progress, Task Board is the better fit.
